The ReGen Network Cooperative: a cooperative regenerative society

In design. The ReGen Network Cooperative is being designed as a member-owned cooperative in which land projects and people buy and steward land together, governed democratically by the network itself. It is not yet a legal entity and it accepts no money. We are designing it now with land projects, future members and counsel.

How it is being designed to work

These are the design principles we are working from. The legal form, bylaws and terms will be set with counsel and adopted by the founding members.

• Owned by its members. Land projects and the people who work with them own the cooperative together and govern it one member, one vote.
• Every form of capital counts. Members' contributions are recognized across all nine forms of capital, from money to time, skills, tools and relationships.
• Membership stays with the member. A membership can't be sold or traded. There is no market for it.
• No managing partners. Members elect a small board that rotates. The network hires the people who run the day-to-day work.
• Land held for the long term. The leading design is the one community land trusts use: the cooperative holds land and leases it long term to member projects. Counsel will confirm the structure.
• Built for use. People join to use and care for shared land, tools and services. Membership is for the land projects and people who use the cooperative.

Where it stands

We are designing the cooperative now with land projects, future members and counsel. Its legal form, bylaws and terms are not set. When they are, the founding members will adopt them together.

Church of the Regenerative Earth (CORE) is the church and operating entity. ReGen Civics is the platform and alliance; it is not the church. The ReGen Network Cooperative is in design; it is not part of CORE and is not yet an entity.

Tokens

Tokens in ReGen Civics record contributions and carry governance weight in the Game. They make no claim about financial value. $RCivics comes from the earlier fund design. Its role, if any, in the cooperative is being reviewed with counsel. RCVoice comes from the earlier fund design. The cooperative is designed to vote one member, one vote, and how RCVoice relates to that is being reviewed with counsel.

Land projects, people, organizations and funders can tell us they're interested and which of the nine forms of capital they might bring. Telling us you're interested is not a commitment and involves no money. We'll keep you posted as the cooperative takes shape and invite you into the design conversations.
