BioHarmony Demonstration Center - Goodman, MO, US (Ozarks)
Posted by Rieki Cordon (Rieki) in the ReGen Civics community forum.
**BioHarmony Demonstration Center** is a mature regenerative land project based in Goodman, MO, US (Ozarks), United States.
**Vision**
To educate and demonstrate BioRegional stewardship, ecological living, and SolarPunk architecture. We are hosting workshops (Rainwater collection, Solar Energy, BioGas Digesters, Dome construction, Earthen Flooring, Rocket-mass Heater) to show people how easy it is to live lightly on the earth while retaining safety, dignity, and wellness.
Once the Demonstration center is well on its way, it will serve as a launch-pad for sister healing communities that are geared towards particular demographics of marginalized peoples.
**Land status:** owned
**Regenerative practices**
We are demonstrating how to live lightly, yet live well. We are adapting Earthship principles to the Ozarks BioRegion with a project called "Domesteading." Combining rainwater collection, water re-use, solar energy, biogas digesters, thermal mass and earth tubes (passive heating/cooling) to create fully off-grid structures that provide a safe place for shelter and self-care at a much lower price-point than traditional housing architecture.
**Governance approach**
This community will not be growing in numbers, but only serves as an architectural demonstration hub. Once some of the SolarPunk architecture experiments are complete, we will be ready to grow and partner with local organizations to create villages for marginalized peoples.
So right now, not much for Governance. Just a married couple doing their best to listen to Spirit, spread love, and execute the vision gifted to them.
**Community engagement**
Our workshops will be bringing in community members to educate and demonstrate BioRegional SolarPunk practices.
**Team:** Jacob Foster: Chief BioHarmonic Architect
Victoria Foster: Creative Director (2 people)
**Current funding:** All funding so far has been out-of-pocket, slowly building up as we find surplus from my software contracting jobs. We are also pursuing a partnership with Ozarks Resource Center as a fiscal sponsor so that a local benefactor can channel his IRA distribution to us tax-free.
**Funding needs:** Our big push right now is to get the Studio Dome complete. We still need base rock, a rental compactor, clay, sand, straw, 4x4s, and panels for the dome. That comes to about $5k in materials.
**Time commitment:** Jacob can give 20 hours per week. Victoria can give 10 hours per week.

This is a beautiful endeavor, a true gift to the land and to the community around you. The vision of demonstrating self-sufficient living and healing through connection to the Earth is a profound way to invite others back to their own roots. Each workshop and structure you build is a seed planted in the hearts of those who come, reminding them of the simple joys of life on the land. May your path be blessed as you nurture this vision and share your wisdom with others.
