My partner and I did a small ceremony at dawn on the land we are stewarding. We planted a tree together and spoke about what we want this place to become. The land knows you. Every seed you hold between your lips before pressing it into the soil, every tree you plant with someone you love, every morning you spend in that space, it all becomes part of a living record. The land remembers your hands.
A rite of love is not one day. It is the sum of all those mornings.
