Here is How It Works

Step 1: Investor Contributes to the Fund

An impact investor puts capital into the ReGen Civics fund. For example, let us say an investor contributes $1,000,000.

Step 2: Earmarking for Specific Projects

The investor can earmark up to 90% of their contribution to support a specific land project they care about. Perhaps they have a personal connection to a project in Costa Rica, or they are passionate about a particular bioregion.

Step 3: ReGen Civics Performs Due Diligence

Our team of experienced regenerative practitioners evaluates the land project across multiple dimensions:

  • Land Ownership: Is the title clear? Are there any encumbrances?
  • Location Quality: Is the land in a stable real estate market?
  • Regenerative Potential: Can this land be restored and enhanced?
  • Game Structure: Does the project have a clear Minimum Viable Economy?
  • Team Assessment: Are the right people in place?
  • Legal Framework: Is the governance structure sound?

Step 4: Verification of the "Game"

We ensure the land project has all the pieces of their Infinite Game in place. This means:

Step 5: Council Vote & Fund Release

Even if the land project passes all of our verifications listed above, the final check is passing the collective intelligence of our network. Our fund only makes investment decisions if a project receives a 90%+ vote from the council, which is governed by representatives of other successful land projects and alliance organizations. This brings the collective wisdom to assess project potential.

If the project passes both our due diligence and the council vote, we release 90% of the earmarked funds to the project in exchange for equity. The remaining 10% stays in the diversified fund. If not, we return the majority of the funds to the potential investor (keeping either 3% or $20,000 whichever is less as a fee for our due diligence work).
